Sr. Shopper Insights Manager

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

This Shopper Insights role demands a strong understanding of consumer, shopper and retail trends. Qualified candidates will have experience and expertise in designing and executing insight work, including proficiency in insight methodologies, analysis and development of compelling and actionable insight reports. A background of shopper, consumer and / or category insights is essential to success in the role. Key capabilities will include strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively across teams and to interact with customers. .

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to clearly and precisely communicate orally and in writing to individuals and groups.
  • Ability to develop and deliver actionable insights relative to consumer, shopper and category trends/behaviors.
  • Ability to build strong sustainable business relationships at various levels throughout the K-C organization and with customers.
  • Ability to precisely and proficiently conduct strategic business and data analyses with financial acumen and data driven recommendations.
  • Ability to operate and use telephones, computers/laptops and other technological devices/software programs to communicate with other people.
  • Ability to create professional, yet persuasive, PowerPoint presentations incorporating data, relevant insights and information, visual aids, charts, tables, graphs and short video clips, when appropriate.
  • Ability to travel via aircrafts, and operate and drive motor vehicles for business travel, with valid driver license.


DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Develop sustainable and strong partnerships with key customers by providing strategic recommendations that promote total Category & Brand growth.
  • Integrate insights and analytics to drive DPSM (Distribution, Product/Placement, Shelf and Merchandising) initiatives.
  • Be recognized internally at K-C and externally at Customers as a thought leader in shopper insights and trends.
  • Customize Path to Purchase (P2P) research for core shopper marketing and CRM programs at the customer level.
  • Develop and maintain a dynamic customer situation assessment, including up-to-date understanding of customer category trends, to ensure that category risks & opportunities are highlighted and addressed through shopper, category and customer insights.
  • Understand Kimberly Clark brand SBPs (Strategic Business Plan), and is able to translate to customer category risks and opportunities, with both a K-C and a customer lens.
  • Lead the development and alignment of the retailer learning plan.
  • Lead key strategic shopper and category projects for customer team.
  • Collaborate with Field based Shopper Marketing Managers to develop best in class shopper marketing programs that yield most efficient spending and positive ROI investments.
  • Collaborate with corporate (HQ) shopper insights, and with consumer and analytics team members within GMRA. Leverage national or brand studies in support of customer-specific solutions (e.g., A&U, Marketing mix)
  • Collaborate with Field Category Management to develop best in class shopper insights that can help KC win at shelf, support Top-to-Top meetings and other customer sell-in stories.
  • Collaborate with customers on resolving business issues/requests, and provide solutions and recommendations through creative strategic interpretation and application of loyalty data and shopper insights.
  • Must have strong working knowledge in analyzing syndicated and POS data, household panel and /or loyalty data and Geo- Demographic (e.g. Spectra) data.
  • Proven experience in strategic application of data, navigation of databases, methodologies and measures.
  • Must also have the ability to engage and enroll employees and their customer base in the general practices for solving shopper problems and providing shopper solutions.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education required:
  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree.


Experience:
  • At least 5 years of experience in transforming business analyses and data from multiple sources into actionable insights for Sales, Shopper Marketing, and Category Management based on strategic initiatives.
  • Strong working knowledgeable of syndicated data, household panel data, Geo- Demographic data, loyalty data analysis, shopper research, and marketing concepts.
  • Strong experience in strategic application of data, navigation of databases, methodologies and measures.


Preferred Experience/Qualifications:
  • Empowered strategic judgment and decision maker assessing risks.
  • Experience analyzing shopper data and developing customer solutions that delivers category or customer growth.
  • Knowledge of syndicated data, household panel data, Geo-Demographic data, plan-o-gram analyses, and shopper research.
  • Proficient in data access tools and PC based applications (Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to Sr. Director, Shopper Engagement

SCOPE OF POSITION:

Develop sustainable category partnerships with key customers. Build actionable Category stories integrating insights and data driven analytics. Create, manage, and track key business metrics. Understand shopper loyalty programs and systems. Individual contributor.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Travel may include up to 25% of work time. Travel may also include business travels via aircrafts and motor vehicles to various locations. May include prolong periods of sitting, typing, viewing computer/laptop screens, along with occasional bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, climbing, twisting, stooping and standing.

LOCATION OF POSITION:

This position will be located in Kimberly Clark's Rogers, AR office and will support the Walmart and Sam's teams.
