Guy Carpenter is looking for an experienced Senior Contract Associate who is bilingual (fluent in French and English). The role can be located in Toronto or Montreal, Canada, or a number of U.S. cities.What can you expect:You will own the primary responsibility for the drafting and delivery of reinsurance contracts to Guy Carpenter's clients, working closely with senior Brokers. Your responsibilities will include the construction and delivery of contractual documentation for client accounts assigned, in compliance with company language guidelines and procedures. You are expected to possess and apply advanced reinsurance knowledge, basic primary insurance concepts and excellent writing skills, independently, to each program. You will regularly make informed, thoughtful and relevant recommendations to the contractual product, often beyond the instructions given, and/or raise potential issues with requested language/approach as applicable and as each unique program warrants.Reporting to U.S.-based leadership, you will work locally with an energetic and successful team of brokers. You will be responsible for delivering consistently accurate and timely contract documentation to internal and external parties. Seek opportunities to increase own understanding and improve the services provided.What you need to have:Bachelor's Degree or higher.Minimum of 7 years of directly related contract drafting experience in insurance/reinsurance industry.Multi-lingual (Fluency in English and French required written and spoken)Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) or other equally recognized industry designation requiredAwareness of contract law in your region/country, contract provisions, reinsurance concepts and principles, basic regulatory controls and general business trends.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.Strong verbal and writing skills for complex communications (presentations, negotiations, etc.) with clients, markets and GC colleagues at senior levels.Demonstrated ability to contribute as part of a high performance team.
