Job Description:
Northrop Grumman's Vandenberg Integration Site (VSFB) is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a team member of the engineering, integration, test, and launch operations team, the Mechanical Engineer will support and manage various aspects of the assembly, integration, test, and launch activities of multiple Northrop Grumman Launch Vehicle Programs.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Perform integration, test, and launch operations on rockets and launch vehicles
Coordinate and lead Mechanical Technicians supporting activities such as, integration, test, checkout, operation, and maintenance of complex mechanical flight, ground testing and launching systems.
Create, edit, review, and maintain work instructions utilized during manufacturing and launch pad operations for correctness and completeness against mission requirements, launch vehicle configuration, and component changes and modifications
Lead the testing and evaluation/validation of mechanical systems
Coordinate and perform testing with customer, FAA, and site range and safety personnel
Perform day-of-launch activities including pad closeouts and launch countdown support
Implement new ideas and processes to improve manufacturing capability and efficiency Maintain launch day schedule by performing other duties as necessary

Minimum Education or Experience2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
Ability to work in a fast paced team environment and multi-task
Enthusiasm for hands-on work
Ability to communicate effectively with different disciplines
Ability to work 2nd shift operations as required
Ability to travel up to 5% if the time
Salary Range: 64200 - 96200
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
