We are seeking a Entry Level HR / Payroll Coordinator to support our growing team! Position will be responsible for assisting the Human Resources Department with a variety of functions listed below.
This is an entry level position, great opportunity for a recent grad and/or someone looking to transition into a career in HR! This role will have in office presence.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Entering high volume new hires into the Payroll / HRIS system
- Audit and maintain accurate data in HRIS system such as contact information, EEO Classification, timekeeping set-up/access, garnishments, etc.
- Process garnishments, verification of employment, benefits, and taxes in the payroll system consistent with federal and state laws and regulations.
- Working with state and local agencies to obtain Tax ID's, entering those into the system.
- Ensure the processing of new hires, promotions and terminations is accurate and timely.
- Responsible for completing, organizing and relaying information to various reporting agencies as required by law (i.e. Unemployment, Worker's Compensation, Social Security Administration, EEO Reporting, etc.).
- Process mail for both Human Resources and Payroll duties.
- Keep Electronic employment files up to date and orderly
- Complete termination paperwork as needed.
- Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits, and tax procedures.
- Recommend and Implement change where opportunities for efficiencies exist.
- Possess the ability to learn about tax laws, payroll deductions, tax rates and maximum allowances for 401k, HSA, and FICA.
- Assist with other areas of Human Resources including onboarding and benefits.
- Communicate actively with HR and Finance to consider cross-departmental impact.
- Ensure systems are set-up and updated to reflect our current employee base, including wages, benefits, sick and vacation time in line with employment agreements.
- Compile data as needed for state audit requests.
- Actively participate in benefit enrollments and open enrollment decisions.
- Manage regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation and sick accrual, tax deductions, EEO, benefit deductions, departmental heads, and turnover, among others).
- Perform other administrative duties and ad hoc task for the Payroll and Human Resources department

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree preferred
- Previous administrative experience a plus
- Highly self-motivated and proactive
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent MS office skills
- Excellent communication skills with all levels of the organization
- Excellent organizational and recordkeeping skills, to include confidential information
