THE COMPANY

SUMMARY


The Accountant I is responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles in accordance with U.S. GAAP, assist with the performance of procedures to analyze financial information, assist with the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, and ensure appropriate internal control policies and procedures are adhered to.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in accounts payable functions
  • Assist the team on bank reconciliations
  • Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations
  • Input and analyze data to ensure data is accurate
  • Assists with month-end and quarter-end close process
  • Complete financial close schedules
  • Collaborate with the Accounting/Finance team to communicate accounting results and variances
  • Support the annual and quarterly financial statement audit
  • Assists with the pickup and delivery of financial packets from companies that are needed to close the books
  • Complete and issue Form 1099 filings;
  • CollectI analyze financial information and develop and maintain financial databases;
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data;
  • Assist with ad-hoc procedures as requested from management

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited university

• Related experience in accounting of 2-3 years

• Strong quantitative and analytic skills and the ability to interpret financial data, including financial statements and key ratios.

• High proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience involving extensive work with complex spreadsheets.

• Team player who doesn't mind digging into the details.

• Understanding of US GAAP and experience researching technical accounting issues.

• Highly motivated individual who can work independently.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Knowledge of SAGE 100 accounting software is a plus.


LANGUAGE SKILLS


Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, contracts, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and/or small group situations to clients, and other employees of the organization.


EQUIPMENT USED


Computer, fax machine, printer, copier, typewriter, calculator, phone, shredder, headset, paper cutter and all other office equipment.
