NeoGenomics is looking for a Human Resources Generalist within the Human Resources department in our Aliso Viejo, CA location who wants to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow. The role will require 4 days onsite and 1 day remote.

The HR Generalist will perform HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with HR leadership in supporting designated geographic regions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assists with the training and organizational development programs that address personal, professional, and organizational needs of employees and departments.
  • Verifies completion and accuracy of employment paperwork and remits to payroll/corporate office timely.
  • Documents personnel actions and submits information to payroll and/or other entities efficiently.
  • Serves as benefits coordinator in directing the administration of insurance, retirement, and other benefits programs.
  • Coordinates employee action changes with payroll to ensure payroll changes take effect efficiently.
  • Ensures open communications with staff and develops positive employee relations.
  • Recommends and participates in the development of policies and procedures.
  • Interpreting, assisting and advising employees and managers regarding cooperative agreement applications, leave management and benefit administration, and HR procedures and policies within the specified guidelines.
  • Prioritizes and coordinates the maintenance of department records, ensuring complete accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Builds and updates organizational charts
  • Researches and analyzes data for special projects and policy development.
  • Responds to routine inquiries from vendors and internal customers in an efficient manner
  • Coordinates employee events, social outings and activities
  • Attends department meetings and company in-service trainings to improve knowledge
  • Coordinates and/or facilitates special projects as needed.
  • May serve on organizational committees to support employee satisfaction (i.e. Green Team, Wellness Committee, etc)
  • Achieves desired level of competency and accuracy for the main department processes and responsibilities of assigned position, as defined in established SOPs
  • Works to ensure that all company bills are paid in a timely manner
  • Works productively and efficiently to achieve company and departmental goals
  • Communicates optimally cross-functionally.
Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required
  • 3+ years' experience in a similar HR capacity preferred
  • Healthcare, Pharma and/or Clinical Laboratory industry experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledgeable with human resources laws and federal/state compliance requirements
  • Experience working within a multi-site environment.
  • Computer and Digital literacy; specifically with MS office applications
  • Word, Excel is required. Experience with Workday is a plus.
  • High attention to detail, hardworking, proactive, and well-organized individual
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to function independently within a broad scope of guidelines and established policies and goals.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentially.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work within and meet project timelines.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Past experience developing policies and procedures (preferred).
