Job description

The Strategic Development Director is responsible for supporting growth and development across multiple states for a designated operating group. The position is also responsible for strategic planning and initiating growth through acquisition and organic development; identifies growth opportunities, manages or assists with organic development, New Starts, tuck-ins and acquisitions. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the position also supports Executive Directors and State Directors in planning, development and execution. The position requires extensive travel.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below.
Planning
1. Oversees strategic business growth across multiple states
2. Incorporates growth with budgetary planning.
3. Reviews best practices for dissemination across states.

Development
1. Supports operations personnel in efforts to grow revenue, maintain margin and meet annual growth plans.
2. Encourages state and regional development to serve new populations and drive geographic and service line expansion.
3. Initiates and assists with new start or other core development initiatives.

Scouting
1. Promotes relationships with payers, competition and other stakeholders.
2. Identifies opportunities by following industry trends, responding to payer need and requests for proposal.
3. Reviews best practices for growth and development and disseminates across states.

Acquisition
1. Identifies potential candidates for tuck-in or acquisition.
2. Assists with diligence and integration planning.
3. Assists and acts as liaison with Mergers and Acquisitions personnel.

Public Relations
1. Assists with relations and communications to the general community and neighbors concerning new development.
2. Maintains and fosters relations with state and regional government authorities and referral agencies as applicable to growth and development.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills required by the Job

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree and minimum five years related experience. Master's degree in Human Services, or other related education and experience preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

Current driver's license, car registration and auto insurance if driving on behalf of the Company.

Other Requirements:

Travel is required as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
