We are looking for a Human Resources Business Partner to join our HR team based out of our Anaheim, CA office. The incumbent will provide broad HR generalist support to assigned business units across Willdan. This opportunity is open due to growth we are experiencing in our business!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Delivers HR consultation to leaders in assigned business line(s) or geographic region(s) that aligns with business objectives.
  • Provides guidance and insight around key talent acquisition processes, including effective techniques for candidate sourcing, screening, and related legal/compliance activities. May actively support talent acquisition and talent management activities either directly or in collaboration with others as required.
  • Facilitates effective management of individual and organizational performance through support of the performance appraisal process, performance improvement activities, and coaching of leaders and employees.
  • Works with key stakeholders to effectively and timely respond to employee relations, investigations, and leave of absence situations.
  • Facilitates, either directly or through others, onboarding process and ensures timely recordkeeping of various employee record transactions such as new hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, leaves of absence and terminations.
  • Generates and analyzes reports to support business decisions and/or government reporting.
  • Supports communication of benefits and compensation programs such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, voluntary, retirement, and employee stock purchase to employees in assigned business units.
  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements affecting HR functions to help ensure policies, procedures, programs, and reporting are compliant. Credibly responds to related inquiries on these topics in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with others to initiate and drive new programs and processes to enhance the employee experience at Willdan.
  • May participate in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion work groups and/or assist with supporting Willdan's sustainability and energy transformation initiatives and community outreach initiatives.
  • Effectively inspire coworkers, business partners and management to find ways to develop Willdan's brand as an employer of choice.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned by supervisor as business needs dictate.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, industrial psychology, business, or related area preferred.
  • Four or more years of progressively responsible human resources generalist experience.
  • Track record of prioritizing multiple projects and tasks to ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders while delivering excellent customer service in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Effective listening, verbal communication, and written communication skills with proven ability to appropriately adjust messaging to different audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, changing entrepreneurial work environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Competent in navigating HRIS systems, ADP Workforce Now experience ideal but not required.
  • Broad knowledge of multi-state employment laws and regulations.
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time (post-pandemic: this is not required at the current time). Travel may include various means of transportation including automobile, public transportation, rail and airplane.
