Job description
The Business Development Executive will have responsibility for the Merchant Services Commercial Banking (CB) West. The successful candidate will manage a team of Business Development Merchant Services Sales executives aligned to Commercial Banking CCBSI and MMBSI. The team consists of geographically dispersed Sales professionals. The Merchant Services leader will collaborate and partner closely with the CB and Treasury leaders to integrate and develop comprehensive strategies to grow our merchant services processing volume. This individual will be primarily responsible for engaging and partnering with key stakeholders not only within CB, but also MS partner to deliver holistic firm wide payment solutions. The leader will be guiding their team and collectively work with employees and partners as they identify, develop, maintain and enhance the relationships with clients and prospects for CB prospects. The role requires strong relationship engagement with CB Leadership and internal stakeholders.
The successful candidate will:
- Lead Business Development leaders to establish end-to-end sales and prospect account planning strategies for new business sales.
- Drive pro-active and effective collaboration between Merchant Services and the CB teams
- Execute and lead strong performance management discipline
- Leverage expert cross-functional business knowledge, financial acumen, strong internal relationships, and exceptional leadership skills to make significant and impactful decisions
- Will represent the \"voice of the client\" for JPM Merchant Services for the segment and manage revenue vulnerability and client loss through a deep understanding of the client's needs and identification of product and service delivery gaps
- Have demonstrated understanding of the business including financial performance benchmarks, key challenges and opportunities and the competitive landscape
- Be a Strategic thinker who supports the goals and direction of Merchant Services, MMBSI and the firm
- Demonstrate best in class communication skills, including influencing, negotiation and collaboration
- Lead by example, by applying a consultative selling approach to cultivate references and develop appropriate product solution recommendations as a player and coach to the team.
Minimum Skills Required:
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Management experience of a sales and/or relationship management team
- Proven progressive leadership, management, execution, coaching, and influencing skills, particularly at C-Level
- Proven leadership skills in developing and building collaborative partnerships X-LOB with key stakeholders to achieve firm-wide objectives.
- Proven success and active leadership and direct management to a geographically diverse sales and relationship management force.
- a high-level of success in cross-selling products and a track record of meeting or exceeding aggressive product penetration goals
- a high-level of success in establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with clients
- Proven experience utilizing data and information to drive business results, compelling recommendations and inform effective decision making:
- Financial and market analysis to support proposals for new business and renewals
- Sales metrics and reporting tools to analyze cause and effect, and effectively manage sales force and relationship managers
- Strong executive presence and experience speaking in public forums.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Merchant Services business model, products and services
- Outstanding professional reputation both inside and outside of the firm
- Proven progressive leadership, management, execution, coaching, and influencing skills
- Strong Knowledge of the US market with emphasis on payments and all areas of the competitive landscape
- Up to 50% Travel Required
- BA/BS degree or equivalent years of experience, MBA preferred
