We are looking for Project Manager who is expert in managing the construction of GMP - Biotech/Pharma Facility, the preliminary specs of the planned facility are as follows:
Manufacturing Zone is total of: 28K SF in which 11K SF is Mfg. Space and 14K SF is Support Space, and consists of 4 clean room modules, 4 labs, centralized LN, CO2 systems, knitting room, MAL/PAL with in-out capabilities {personnel airlock (PAL), material/equipment airlock (MAL)}, unidirectional flow in a fully enclosed manufacturing unit.
Responsibilities:
- Leads cross-functional teams of contractors and scientists to successfully execute disruptive construction projects in labs/buildings.
- Planning, construction, and validation of state-of-the-art, multi-modular flex lab/contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO).
- Experience Managing Air Systems, HVAC and Clean Dry Air (CDA) Generator.
- Must see the big picture of the entire Research Construction portfolio with a key eye to phasing of lab moves and construction
- Must be able to clearly communicate with user groups construction activities that will impact lab/building occupants
- Communicate construction schedules, move schedules, and assist with coordinating vendors with construction team support
- Partner with key stakeholders and customers to assess and address improvement opportunities
Works directly with Lab scientist to scope out project and program requirements (larger construction to smaller equipment installs) - Provides proposed layout options for user and management review, and obtains user agreement and sign-off.
- Experienced in lab remodeling/retrofitting, working with local city officials for plans/permits, communicating with engineers/construction/clean room firms, and having a financial background is a definite plus.
- Works with lab equipment vendors for utility and site installation guidance when designing lab space for specialty equipment.
- Track down where lab equipment can be installed in labs or lab support areas, defines needed utilities, determines best and correct funding route for project
- Provides interface between users, stakeholders, contractors and other vendors as needed to coordinate project work (e.g., office and lab move coordinators, building managers, building engineers and Hazardous Materials consultants, etc.)
- Provides guidance and clarification of project requirements to construction project managers.
- Attends Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings during construction.
- Reviews and comments on Requests for Information, submittals, Product Information and participates in punch list walks and back checks at construction completion.
Requirements
- Single contact for Lab building code & architectural questions.
- Assist in assessing impact to science on large building shutdowns
- Assist with lab clean outs and re-distribution of lab equipment.
- Assist with work orders by walking sites with users to understand their requirements in order to expedite approval.
- Understanding of cGMP requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in biology/chemistry or engineering/architecture/project management and with several years of work experience in biotech/pharmaceutical lab environment.
- 10+ years of experience in working with or in the lab environment
Problem solving skills, with ability to anticipate problems and recommend solutions. - Someone who manifests trust, and is known for her/his ethics and integrity and has a passion for collaboration, customer service, quality, and continuous improvement mentality.
