Job description

SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Administrator, Quality Calibration is responsible for the maintenance and administration of the calibration system coordinating with customer and internal gauge control using GAGEtrak or an equivalent software management program. He/she assists Quality Engineers to improve product quality and resolve issues concerning product quality involving inspection equipment and tools.

The Administrator, Quality Calibration, Orchid Arcadia reports to Manager, Quality, Full-Site Leadership, Orchid Arcadia and in the Quality group.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Maintenance of Calibration System

  • Ensure compliance for administration of calibration management of inspectional gauges (mechanical gauges, micrometers, comparators, CMM, overlays) using designated calibration software.
  • Clean, repair, replace, and schedule repairs and calibration, as needed.
  • Assist production personnel and Supervisors/Leads with repairs, minor gauge calibrations, and production demand for gauges.
  • Follow up on product nonconformance's per procedures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints as necessary to determine proper gage requirements.
  • Utilize inspection tools as necessary to complete required inspections: VMM, Optical Comparator, CMM, Calipers, Micrometers, etc.
  • Perform visual inspection to determine conformance to customer requirements.
  • Review calibration supplier reports to confirm product conformance to specifications.
  • Initiate and participate in Corrective and Preventative actions.
  • Utilize ERP system to enter and access job and inspection data as necessary.
  • Initiate document change request as necessary to update quality documents (PCC, Procedures, Work Instruction, etc.)
  • Save/scan calibration documents in proper system folders.
  • Lead quality and compliance by utilizing One Orchid global processes and complying with all Quality Management Systems (QMS) documentation requirements and establishing/supporting plan(s) to meet/exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Quality that support Safety, Compliance, Six Sigma Quality, On-Time Delivery (OTD) and financial objectives.


Quality Improvement and Resolution of Product Quality Issues
  • Create DMRs for non-conforming material.
  • Provides input to proper gauging and fixturing requirements for inspection use.
  • Provides correspondence (written or verbal) to customer for gauge-related topics (e.g., gauge return, calibration method, measurement techniques).
  • Participates in problem solving sessions.
  • Collect data for a statistical capability study.
  • Support Quality Engineers with Gage R&R / MSA measurement system studies

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent and repetitive use of hands and fingers
  • Lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 30 lbs.
  • Requires sitting for extended periods of time.
