ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the execution of all aspects of the procurement process as required; seeking at all times to optimize quality, cost and delivery.
  • Develop, implement and document Procurement system in support of the production system.
  • Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability.
  • Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy resolving issues as required.
  • Maintaining Lean Relationships with key suppliers to identify and implement shared cost reductions.
  • Developing Global Supply Chain capable of meeting future company objectives.
  • Coordinate activities related to procurement of a purchased parts beginning with intent to purchase through delivery.
  • Analyze the requirements of the purchased parts, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and date parts are needed.
  • Solicit and evaluate proposals for the requested purchased parts.
  • Investigate and/or interview potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements.
  • Negotiate the lowest possible cost for the purchased parts balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.
  • Implement purchase contracts that comply with company and government regulations.
  • Ensure that the purchased parts are delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company.
  • Maintain timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records.
  • Coordinate appropriate methods needed to distribute purchased parts in a cost effective manner.
  • Maintain data in SAP.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a commercial or technical field.
  • 3-5 years of purchasing experience preferably for the automotive industry.
  • Project purchasing experience.
  • Experience purchasing metal, aluminum and steel components.
  • Knowledge of ISO/TS quality standards.
  • Experience in International Supplier Management.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Negotiation skills are a must!
  • German language skills are a plus.
