Join our team now at Siemens Healthineers as an Intellectual Property Counsel for Diagnostics

This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As an Intellectual Property Counsel:

* You will be an integral part of the laboratory diagnostics business, with a focus on molecular-based testing, and drive decisions concerning IP issues together with the business leadership, R&D organization, business development, strategy and legal department.
* You will develop and drive the implementation of an IP strategy for the business line, including the preparation, filing and prosecution of patents, trademarks or copyright applications internally and via outside counsel.
* You will ensure freedom to operate by implementation of appropriate defensive IP measures and by providing expert legal advice in connection with product IP clearances and patent investigations
* You will actively support IP litigations and M&A transactions (and associated due diligence activities) for the business line as necessary.

Required skills to have for the success of this role:

* Juris Doctor from an accredited institution, with admission to practice in a U.S. state and before the USPTO.
* Experience and/or background in medical diagnostics, particularly in the field of molecular (nucleic acid) testing
* 7+ years of experience as a practicing attorney experienced in intellectual property, including in prosecution, counselling, clearances and IP-related agreements.
* 10% Travel
