Job description
OPPORTUNITY
The Product Manager, Decentralized Diagnostics is responsible for Product Management activities for Mammoth's point of care and point of need molecular diagnostic products. Key activities for the position include product strategy, product life cycle management, product launches, and supporting the commercial organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify unmet customer needs and new product/market opportunities in molecular diagnostics by utilizing structured voice of customer (VOC) processes
- Drive the development of new product concepts in close cooperation with R&D, business development and other internal stakeholders
- Think critically about product solutions and participate in tough conversations about prioritization and tradeoffs
- Manage through challenges that arise in product development - timelines, technical risks, vendors, and shifting regulatory requirements
- Use creativity and assessment of trends to conceive of wholly new product concepts, business models, and ideas that address the future of healthcare
- Provide inputs into the product roadmap through gaining market insights via customer interaction and competitive analysis
- Represent Marketing in new product development teams and act as a resource to Mammoth's co-development partners
- Participate and present in key conferences and internal and external meetings
- Foster relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) within a variety of clinical environments
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of related work experience OR Master's degree in field with 3+ years of related work experience OR Doctoral degree in field with 2+ years of work experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience in marketing-related or customer-facing roles in the medical device or diagnostic industries
- Experience working within the molecular in vitro diagnostics (IVD) market with strong knowledge of current marketed products and competition
- Prior product launch experience with added value on taking a new product concept to the market
- Experience across testing formats, especially point of care devices
- Basic familiarity with regulatory processes including FDA 510(k) and CE mark
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 25-30%, both domestic and/or internationally, as required and permissible
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Passion for exploring new modes of diagnostics testing that leverage connectivity and consumerism
- Proven experience working in cross-functional product development teams
- Excellent and presentation skills
- Communicates effectively and strong team player/collaborator with various internal constituents, customers and other stakeholders
- Analytical thinking and in-depth understanding of the current market environment is a requirement
