Job description

Job Description: The Jr. Cost Accountant is accountable for the reporting and ongoing analysis of process constraints, target costing projects, accumulating and applying overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles, and tracing costs back to underlying activities. The Jr. Cost Accountant must construct and monitor those cost-effective data accumulation systems needed to provide an appropriate level of costing information to management. The Jr. Cost Accountant will also be responsible for break-even points and profit margin analyses as assigned by management. ?Export data from the accounting software program to prepare for weekly, monthly, or quarterly cost allocations. ?Review cost data and closely monitor cost allocations for accurate reporting. ?Coordinate and verify with A/P department and/or managers the cost center designations for weekly expenses incurred. ?Conduct quarterly ranch performance reconciliations with the accounting system. ?Update cost accounting reports, analyze cost allocations, and conduct break-even analyses for existing ranches. ?Assist the finance team with ad-hoc projects to support analysis, planning, and budget processes, as assigned by the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager. ?Assist with business planning and analysis initiatives by the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager. ??Think outside the box" to make suggestions/revisions to current cost accounting system to promote workflow efficiency and accurate data reporting. Education Required A Bachelor?s Degree in Math, Finance, Accounting or related field.
