Job Description:

Craftsman Unity is in need of a qualified and knowledgeable Plate Maker/Operator. Under the supervisor of the Plant Supervisor, the ideal candidate will be responsible to manufacture photopolymer plates. Operators will be responsible for making, finishing, possibly mounting, and printing plates in accordance with the timing and needs of our clients. Use all platemaking equipment: prepare files, run CDI, exposure, washout and finish units, solvent based still, cutting table, and various mounters. Once the project is complete, box finished plates by job and store for plate mounters.

Responsibilities:

• Perform all 5S duties
• Clean equipment, work area, and waste drums once projects are completed
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Shop Supervisor
• Ability to perform basic machine maintenance, setup, operate, and perform adjustments as necessary
• Must understand and follow all safety requirement for operating equipment

Requirements:

• Open communication with critiques, questions, problem solving, and discrepancies
• Review job ticket instructions to determine requirement of job production
• Proficient in using Micrometers, Calipers, and Dial Indicators
• Sufficient shop math skills, with the understanding of adding/subtracting dimensions
• Accurate knowledge in reading and using a tape measure
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• QC work performed in accordance with Shop Supervisor
• Participate in process improvement efforts and various production meetings to foster a positive creative impact on the business.
• Open to working with other team members on projects as a team player
