WACKER BIOSOLUTIONS specializes in customized bio-technical solutions, high-quality fine chemicals and superior polyvinyl acetate solid resins for gum bases. At our Chino site, we are currently looking for a(n) Chemist I/II to join our growing team.
Position Summary
As a Chemist with Wacker, this associate will drive development of innovative silicone-based products for Automotive, Aerospace, Energy and General Industry and other applications in the Chemical & Process Industries segment that meet customers & marketing needs. This position will provide customer technical support through problem solving and providing tailored samples and manage development project in the lab. They will work independently perform lab work, rubber mixing, testing, analysis and interpretation of data and presentation of findings for internal and external stakeholders and be a key player in customer focused team with marketing, sales, supply chain and production.
Job Responsibilities
Chemist will be responsible to oversee in process testing and make sure it follows all testing methods, they also will be responsible for arranging onsite and off site calibration services for all the lab equipment's and ordering/managing lab supplies and chemical inventory. On R & D side person will be responsible for development of new projects, change and trials on existing formulation for cost benefits including material mixing, testing and cost analysis and providing feedback to supervisor. Person will also be required to travel less than 15% to visit local customers for extending relation and solving problems on-site. They will also be responsible to set up new article in ERP system by communicating and coordinating among various service gps. locally and in corporate functions. This position will also:
* Drive the development of new application by performing Independent design and execution of experiments in the lab, analysis and interpretation of data and drawing of conclusions. Communicate results in an effective manner to both internal and external stakeholders. Carefully organize data and presentations to support technical service utilizing multiple software programs: Microsoft programs and SAP.
* New business execution by setting them up in SAP and completing all standard company written process.
* Monthly Customer Visits with Various local and territory sales managers based on projects and time availability.
Qualifications
Bachelors in Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Applied Chemistry or Material Science, or related field
Minimum of 1-3 years' experience in a Chemistry lab
Experience with Polymer Chemistry, Rubber or Plastic Chemistry or process Chemistry related knowledge is preferred
Formulation experience in Polymer or Rubber is preferred but not required.
Strong lab skills with familiarization of standard ASTM and ISO testing protocols
Basic understanding of product formulation; raw materials, formulation, application, and testing
Self-motivation/self-starter/team player
Well organized to execute multiple projects in parallel
