Job description
Specialty Enzymes & Probiotics is a leading global manufacturer of probiotics and enzymes with over 35 years of experience in the nutraceutical industry.
The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker, detail oriented, good written and communication skills and should have basic knowledge of enzymology and microbiology. They will perform Quality Assurance functions on the production floor to ensure GMP requirements are met. Will help support Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Document Control operations as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities: This is not a remote position.
Performs all duties under direct supervision
- Performs QA functions on Production floor
- Performs other QA functions including Document Control as needed
- Perform analysis of raw materials, finished goods, and incoming lab samples following approved testing procedures
- Perform maintenance and inspection of lab equipment including calibration and documentation
- Maintain proper documentation and record keeping of daily activities in compliance with approved SOPs and Assay Methods
- Maintain laboratory facility and work area at proper levels of cleanliness including washing laboratory equipment
- Perform all work in a safe fashion including ensuring a safe work area
- Manufacture customer samples and perform work on projects related to customer requirements
- Perform other related duties as determined by Supervisor and Management
Skills and Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of enzymology and microbiology
- General knowledge of chemistry and scientific method including data analysis and interpretation
- General laboratory skills including titration methods, use of analytical balances, and pipetting
- General laboratory safety knowledge
- General laboratory instrument knowledge including the use of spectrophotometers
- General mathematical & analytical skills including unit conversions and chemistry calculations
- Basic knowledge of GMPs and role of Research & Development and Quality Control groups
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good organizational skills
Experience and Education
- Experience - 1-2 years in relevant positions, laboratory experience preferred
- Experience - GMP and R&D/QC/QA or related experience required
- Education - Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or equivalent background

Additional Requirements
- Work hours 8:15am - 5:00pm M-F
- Professional dress code, lab coat required in laboratory
