Collins Aerospace has an immediate opening for a Senior Commodity Specialist, Supply Chain Business Development. The ideal candidate will be an integral Supply Chain liaison between Program IPT Leads and the Supply Chain Commodity Management organization, in support of new business proposals.
Primary Responsibilities
- Attend Program proposal meetings, analyze proposal data for Supply Chain "buy" product and work directly with the Supply Chain Commodity Management group to ensure timely RFQ responses from Suppliers.
- Prepare and present proposal summaries for review with Supply Chain, Program and the Aerostructures Senior Leadership team as required.
- Focus on continuous improvement and improving our processes.
- Promote alignment by understanding and communicating customer needs and requirements throughout the organization.
- Ensures all compliance requirements are met.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR
- Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years' experience OR
- In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
- Thorough knowledge of Supply Chain processes.
- Advanced understanding of contract structure, business terms and conditions.
- Experience in understanding Engineering drawings and specifications
- Proficient in Excel, Power Point, Project and MRP/ERP systems.
- Thorough knowledge of Project Management.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder.

- Work independently, remain calm under pressure and deal with ambiguity.
- Experience in the Aerospace industry.
- Working in a manufacturing/operations environment.
- Managing cost reduction initiatives.
- Lean manufacturing experience.
- Management/Leadership experience.
- SAP and Power Point proficiency.
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement / ACE
- Works well in a team environment, highly motivated.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Strong people / interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organization skills.
