Job description
Portfolio Manager
Budgeting and Forecasting
Analyze financial performance to identify potential savings initiatives and risks and opportunities to the department's financial goals and commitments; conduct root-cause analysis related to financial performance/under-performance and initiate remediation plan when necessary.
Portfolio Management
Provide key stakeholders with an overarching view of the project portfolio and financial impacts. Conduct continuous portfolio reviews with executive team to ensure alignment with department goals and corporate objectives in order to maximize investment returns. Meet sponsors to ensure proper implementation of programs and projects; facilitate discussions with key personnel and stakeholders as potential issues and risk arise. Establish and manage formal PMO policies to request, track and prioritize initiatives; provide oversight and control of PMO processes (e.g. portfolio management, capacity management, etc.). Identify and implement portfolio management best practices; develop process documentation, KPIs and measurement tools that facilitate accurate project status reporting and actionable intelligence.
Process Improvement/Administration
Manage and/or lead implementation of various projects in the Finance Department. Drive process simplification and improvement pertaining to internal financial reporting and forecasting. Review current state processes to identify transformation opportunities and deliver process improvements. Perform ad-hoc analytics using various databases and analytic tools. Partner across department teams to drive cross-functional initiatives. Facilitate internal communications throughout the management chain. Provide support to the executive leadership team
Qualifications
Experience managing operational and capital budgets
10+ years of progressive experience in team, project, portfolio, and/or program management
Able to prepare executive management analysis and presentations
Strong communications skills to clearly present key issues and recommended actions
Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; develops alternative solutions
Excellent interpersonal and refined relationship-building skills
Able to perform in a dynamic, fast paced environment with minimal supervision
Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills
