Job description
The Senior Manager, Human Resources will lead the HR functional for the Kate Somerville organization and will be a critical business partner and member of the brand Leadership Team. In this capacity, this leader will report directly to the CEO and will work closely with functional leaders and key stakeholders across the entire company. The successful candidate is a proactive, collaborative, detail-oriented individual with an entrepreneurial mindset and passion for human resources. Superior communication skills and confidence in managing varying levels of stakeholders are essential. The successful candidate will gain hands-on exposure and experience working directly with C-Suite executives, cross-functional understanding of the prestige/luxury skincare industry and experience in growing and scaling a fast-paced global prestige business.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
* Business partner to the Leadership Team
* Lead the HR function and advise and influence all levels of management on matters relating to performance management, top talent planning, employee retention and engagement, and organizational development & effectiveness
* Partner with managers on employee relations matters including performance management and related documentation, research and investigations, and conducting performance documentation meetings
* Manage and coach direct report - Sr. HR Generalist
* Accountable for HRIS oversight including onboarding, changes, separations, and all other employment related documentation
* Supervise and be responsible for bi-weekly payroll for US employees
* Partner with line leaders in the recruitment of top talent
* Provide insight as it relates to benefit programs such as: Medical, Dental, Vision, Short Term and Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, COBRA, 401(k), Workers Compensation
* Oversee employee on-boarding / off-boarding of employees, LOA administration, accident/safety reporting
* Create and facilitate employee training programs
* Collaborate with HR leaders across Unilever Prestige brands and HR leadership
* Additional projects and responsibilities as needed
Skills, Experience and Education Required
* Bachelors degree and/or 5+ years experience in HR in a fast paced and dynamic company
* 5+ years experience in Employee Relations
* Previous experience working with managers and employees to solve employee performance issues
* Deep knowledge of CA employment law
* Experience with Benefits, Leaves administration, Payroll, and unemployment claims
* Successful track record of professional development and team building
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to forge strong internal/external relationships
* High EQ and willingness to make an impact
* Strong organizational skills, attention to details, problem-solving skills, eye for process improvement, ability to take on additional projects outside of job requirements and respond timely in an ever-changing environment
