Job summary

We are looking for a strategic, dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Human Resources team as the Senior Human Resources Business Partner to drive the development, implementation, and measurement of a refined HR strategy supporting AWS Infra Services Software. In essence, this group builds software that either supports the Data Centers or the AWS Network! This HR Leader will have the pleasure of navigating through diverse client groups- ranging from legacy systems, to an external cloud service, a network security organization, and new green field project that is still in development. You will help these leaders scale and work backwards from their north star goals in developing the HR strategy. You will think strategically, leverage data to guide your work, play a critical role advancing a more diverse, accessible, equitable, and inclusive organization through our hiring, promotion, retention, and inclusion practices.

Role can be based in Seattle or the Bay Area.

Key job responsibilities

You must be able to collaborate across groups, influence all levels of the organization. You should be comfortable rolling up your sleeves and engaging on a hands on basis with individuals and teams as well as operating strategically with leadership teams. You will need strong business acumen, executive coaching skills, excellent communications skills, strategic thinking, and planning/project management skills. You are able to balance competing priorities and conflicting opinions, and facilitate the best decisions for employees and the business leaders.

A day in the life

* Function as a business partner to key AWS leaders and their respective organizations; engage in strategic planning meetings to translate business needs into HR plans, and coach and mentor at all level in the organization.
* Lead and drive different monthly/quarterly people metrics with the organizations & respective leaders.
* Lead the annual HR efforts relating to Talent and Performance Management, Compensation Management, Succession Planning, and Leadership Development for respective client groups
* Bachelors Degree required in Human Resources Management or related field (or equivalent experience).
* Candidate should have at least 8 years of experience in progressive HR roles with broad knowledge and experience in human resources practices, including employee relations, talent development, performance management and compensation.
* 2-3 years HR experience in a fast pace, high tech environment.
* Master's Degree in Human Resources Management or related field is preferred.
* Excellent business acumen and an ability to understand a P&L.
* Able to travel domestically and globally, as needed.
* 3+ years of experience working with global teams, high tech environment and driving organizational change initiatives and developing talent management plans for a global organization.
* Depth of pragmatic experience with compensation planning, negotiation, and implementation.
* An ability and desire to own a space, provide thought leadership, and catalyze results
* Experience assessing management and executive talent
