The Director of Operations is responsible for overall operations of the Primary Care Department and supports daily operational activities for CommuniCare Health Centers. The Director of Operations ensures the smooth operation of patient services, including patient support services, systems, and process management, as well as project oversight and management. The Director of Operations regularly evaluates organizational efficiency and makes necessary changes to maximize staff productivity and efficiency. The Director of Operations routinely assesses the needs of CCHC operations and develops and implements process improvement plans.
CommuniCare Health Centers is a Federally Qualified Health Center providing comprehensive patient-centered primary care services including medical, dental, substance use treatment, behavioral health, and outreach services to the low income, multi-ethnic, uninsured and underinsured in the communities we serve.

HOURS/SITE: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Hours may include some evenings and weekends. Travel is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Identify and target areas CCHC can improve operations; research and implement new directives for CCHC growth, identify and implement process improvements to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
- Supervise the clinic managers and other staff as assigned.
- Oversee space planning activities for the agency.
- Assist in developing strategies and implementation plans to improve and standardize all aspects of operations.
- Ensure that operational processes stay within agreed upon budgets and timelines.
- Implement, manage, and evaluate operation processes and procedures, in accordance with the standards and procedures set out by the organization.
- Oversee school-based and mobile medicine clinical services including contracting.
- Supervise manager of patient/client benefits enrollment and patient engagement.
- Assist COO with project management and implementation of new process and procedures.
- Oversee the agencys emergency preparedness program and maintain the Emergency Preparedness Plan. Serves as the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator.
- Manage operations employees and volunteers including hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of staff.
- Coordinate management of fiscal and budget issues with CFO.
- Update policies and programs based on evaluation, evidence, and consensus with other health center leaders.
- Lead program staff meetings on an ongoing basis; participate in other CommuniCare-wide and community meetings as appropriate.
- Maintain communication with multiple funding sources and represent CommuniCare in the community.
- Participate in Leadership Team and help guide the strategic direction of the organization.
- Other special projects as assigned.
Education & Experience: Masters degree in health and human service field or three or more years of experience working in related field in a supervisory capacity.Three or more years of experience directing and supervising staff within a Community Health Care setting desired. Proven experience developing and designing effective programs desired.
Special Skills/Equipment: Must be at least intermediate computer Microsoft Office computer user. Proof of current drivers license, auto insurance and personal transportation are required

Expected to have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to understand and follow written/verbal instructions. Able to work independently with little or no supervision. Required effectively interact with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels and with external customers.

Work is performed in a typical office environment with moderate equipment noise. Travel to all agency sites required.
