PR/Content Marketing Specialist

Internet Brands is seeking an experienced public relations and / or marketing professional to build, grow and nurture content marketing and public relations initiatives for our portfolio of Legal brands within our Martindale-Avvo business unit.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Communications & Public Relations, and working closely with SEO and Marketing professionals across Martindale-Avvo, this position is ideal for a young professional looking to make a material impact on a rapidly growing business by increasing exposure of existing high-value brands.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who is creative, self-motivated, enjoys pitching the press, and has a strong interest in how public relations can support business initiatives. This position is based at our El Segundo headquarters.

Responsibilities:

- Develop broad PR strategy for Internet Brands' portfolio of legal properties, including individual PR plans and content marketing strategies for each brand

- Research, manage, and grow relationships with members of the media and other influencers

- Draft PR and content marketing pitches, press releases, product announcements, media statements, and social media posts

- Heavy media pitching and content marketing outreach

- Track results of PR initiatives and report findings to management

- Vet, process, and make recommendations in response to inbound media inquires.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, communications, marketing or a related field

- 3-5 years experience in public relations and / or marketing, either at an agency, in-house, or a combination of both settings

- A combination of consumer and B2B experience

- Demonstrated ability to write in different styles / tones for different audiences

- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with media and other influencers

- Demonstrated track record of successfully placing stories

- Superior writing and copy editing skills: grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc.

- Self-motivated with the ability to hit goals with minimal supervision

- SEO knowledge a major plus

- Familiarity with and contacts at legal trade media a major plus
