Awesome direct hire opportunity with a Manufacturing Company in the Los Angeles Area. Looking for a Quality Supervisor

1st shift.

Operational Quality Activities

Investigate and report any quality related issues at the plant and develop corrective and preventative actions, along with developing new testing procedures, complete all necessary documentation.

Perform quality inspections per established sampling plan on incoming raw materials, work in progress (WIP), and finished goods.

Conduct organic residual testing on materials using the Gas Chromatography Systems (GC-MS & GC-FID).

Authorized to Product Release incoming raw materials, work in progress (WIP), and finished goods upon meeting product specifications as well as on Vicinity 4 when applicable.

Stop unauthorized deviations to SOPs, work instructions, and product specifications.

Create and/or revise lab work instructions based on new equipment, customer, and production needs.

Monitor and ensure lab equipment is properly working.

Understand and enforce all safety policies and procedures. Ensure employee wellness through safe work practices including ongoing training and coaching of employees.

Customer Experience Management

The Quality Supervisor s main goal is to ensure customer satisfaction with the finished goods.

Resolve any customer quality issues and setting realistic expectations about when the issue will be resolved.

Identify and proactively lead continuous improvement actions to prevent non-conformances. Provide feedback to the Quality Manager on continuous improvement opportunities

Oversee Quality Management System

Assist the Quality Manager in maintaining systems to ensure the facility meets all Food Safety and Quality Management System requirements.

Ensure all products meet product specification to ensure the highest quality standards.

Utilize various computer applications to compile, record, and report test results.

Conduct monthly GMP inspection and write the report.

Ensure test results are recorded, current, and accurate.

Create certificates of analysis (COAs).

Report on Quality Metrics

Provide quality data, metrics, and reports to other members of the management team.

Assist the Quality Manager with quality performance data and key performance indicators (KPI), report on quality activities on a regular basis.

Responsible for reporting issues related to food packaging safety and quality.

Other Duties

SQF Practitioner back up

HACCP Coordinator back up

Responsible for compliance with food safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.

Adhere to applicable prerequisite programs (PRP) per HACCP requirement.

Other duties as assigned.

5+ years stable work experience in a related manufacturing setting, with 3+ years in a Quality supervisory/leadership role.

Previous experience working in a quality lab is a preferred.

Degree is preferred in science such as Chemistry. Knowledge in SQF food safety standard and HACCP is a plus.

Must be able to read and write in English, as well as proficiency in math.

Strong communication skills, ability to speak Spanish a plus.

Proven leadership/team management skills with the ability to optimize team performance and development.

Hands-on approach, with a can-do attitude.

Demonstrate safe work habits and extensive knowledge of workplace safety is required.
