Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Sr. Space Systems Engineer / Quality Assurance Lead. By utilizing cloud-hosted solutions and services, Big Data technologies, and modern web frameworks all within an agile development model, you will support a highly empowered team for brand new effort United States Space Force (USSF), Space Systems Center (SSC), Production Corps. where every team member is directly responsible for the success of the overall mission. Your focus will be providing software engineering expertise across the entire systems production lifecycle to execute and deliver space systems and capabilities to the warfighter. This position can be located in El Segundo, CA, Sunnyvale, CA, or Denver, CO.

Responsibilities:
As a Sr. Space Systems Engineer / Quality Assurance Lead with Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) you will provide systems engineering experience across the entire systems production lifecycle to execute and deliver space systems and capabilities to the warfighter. This position can be located in El Segundo, CA, Sunnyvale, CA, or Denver, CO.
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
You will work with mission stakeholders (USSTRATCOM, Intelligence Community, MDA, etc.) to develop plans, program performance and verification activities, implementation, accreditation, and transition to operations in the Weather mission areas and the four broad OPIR supported mission areas (MW, Missile Defense (MD), Battlespace Awareness (BA) and Technical Intelligence).
You will assist in the design and implementation of short/long-term strategic goals for managing and maintaining systems.
You will establish, implement, and document the technology integration or migration strategies.
You will support quality assurance tasks (e.g., inspection planning and execution, in-process controls, workmanship requirements definition, failure analysis, parts de-rating, piece-part controls and methodologies, materials management, trade studies, tooling and facilities assessments, quality management planning and execution, subcontractor management, design reviews, risk management, proposal evaluations, waiver/deviation requests, vendor reviews, build or test article disposition, deficiency disposition and corrective actions).
Qualifications:
10+ years' of demonstrable experience in space systems engineering.
Recent industry experience performing Systems Engineering tasks for payloads and space vehicles.
Experience performing QA for industry.
Knowledge of Model Base Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML/UML.
Demonstrated ability to identify requirements issues and to propose recommendations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MagicDraw, DOORS, and other SE tools.
Excellent written, verbal communications and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task, with attention to details, and team player.
Desired Requirements:
Prior experience working with SSC and related space systems.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related field of study.
Master's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related field of study. (DESIRED)
Clearance Requirements:
Secret to start work.
TS/SCI eligibility, (DESIRED).
U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
