Job description
Netwatch Group have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Controller to work 60% of Full Time Equivalent Hours (FTE 40 hours per week). As we work closely with Ireland, it would be useful if someone wanted to work morning's, but we are open to different working schedules for the right candidate.
The Financial Controller will support Netwatch North America and National Monitoring Centre (NMC), in our Lake Forest office. This role reports into the Finance Director for Netwatch Group.
The successful candidate will contribute to the overall successful operation of the units through the support and delivery of operational reporting, financial support and guidance for the USA function with some support from the HQ in Ireland. The successful candidate will identify areas of improvement, benchmark, define action plans and be accountable with deliverables. This is a varied, hands-on position, working within a small team, managing operational and strategic financial activities.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Working with HQ in Ireland, manage all accounting operations including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
- Support the company's development of an annual budget and quarterly forecasts
- Prepare and publish timely monthly management accounts in line with IFRS
- Oversee month-end close, including preparation of financials and drafting of management reporting
- Perform analytics to understand business trends and drive decision making
- Coordinate periodic closing process and prepare supporting schedules and work papers for financial review and financial audits
- Monitor monthly expenditure against budgets and perform variance analysis
- Analyse, recommend, and implement necessary improvements across the finance landscape of the business in order to ensure integrity
- Working with HQ in Ireland, to roll out group processes and policies across US
- Work closely with Finance Director, reviewing budgets and targets, analysis of the variances, working capital management and cash-flow management
Requirements:
- 3-5 years' experience as a Financial Accountant/ Financial Controller
- Bachelor's degree in accounting / Finance
- Professional member of a certified accounting body (Chartered or CPA)
- Experience with SAGE, SAP and/or relevant financial software.
- Demonstrated success within the finance team in a national business or a unit of a multinational business
- Reporting under IFRS preferred
- Knowledge of US GAAP
- Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures
- Advanced Excel skills necessary, including the ability to design and utilize effective spreadsheets
