The HR Professional works in partnership with the HR Organization, to partner with leaders in all levels of the organization to support the overall business success and align HR practices with current and future business needs. The HR Professional works closely as a partner in implementing initiatives related to attracting, developing and retaining a talented and committed workforce by leveraging business relationships within the Human Resources team in the specific functional areas (i.e. Recruitment, L&D, Compensation, Data Management and Benefits) within the HR Service Delivery Model.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Consults with management in the areas of: turnover reduction, proper orientation of new hires, appropriate staff promotions and development, staff utilization, performance feedback, recognition, proactive performance management and compensation. Challenges the 'status quo' and serves as a positive agent for new initiatives and change. Accomplishes tasks through influence rather than control.
- Facilitates the Talent and Performance Management cycle. These activities include challenging and counseling managers on the organizational development and effectiveness of their teams, as well as helping their leaders to manage performance.
- Develops and executes local and regional HR projects from beginning to end. Defines project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Creates and executes HR related project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements of site, region, and division.
- Provides 'Performance and Behavioral Management' consultative services to management team and leaders without coming between the important relationship between manager and employee. Ensures the performance management system is adding value to include performance feedback both formal and informal.
- Assists management in identifying opportunities and addressing performance and behavioral issues in a timely and proper manner. Ensures high potential candidates are identified for each group throughout the year and development plans are followed through appropriately.
- Acts as Counselor/Coach in Employee Relations issues to both manager and employees to ensure issues are resolved. This is accomplished by conducting internal investigations and making recommendations to senior levels of the Functional Leaders and HR teams as appropriate.
REQUIRED PROFILE:
- BA/BS degree in business or HR related discipline.
- Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and keyboard 25 wpm.
- Minimum two years' experience in HR generalist environment.
- HR experience dealing with a skilled and professional workforce helpful.
- Related technical acumen a plus.
- Must have demonstrated success in promoting new ideas or changes in a previous situation.
- Must have demonstrated ability to understand and resolve complex problems involving people and their working relationships.
- Must be able to interpret legal language as part of statutory and regulatory edicts related to human resources.
- Must be fluent in written and spoken English. Other languages an asset.
- Occasional travel for training or recruiting.
- Regular regional travel to cover any assigned facility.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security access badge to work at the assigned sites, including completion of proscribed background checks.
