Candidate will support the Companys Future-Grid team to which the candidate will primarily report, as well as support activities of the Wholesale Generation Services team and the Emerging Technologies consulting practice by assisting with the management of Customized Energy Solutions wholesale market load, generation, and distributed resource clients, including advising on market participation strategies, scheduling, settlements, and other back-office processes, as well as performing analytical project work covering all aspects of the California/WECC electricity and resource adequacy markets. The primary focus will be activity in the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) region. To support these functions, the candidate will become familiar with operational processes required to support CES client business, must be able to work independently and as part of a geographically disparate team, be detail-oriented and a person of integrity. Candidate will also have the ability to identify and pursue new opportunities and engage with existing and prospective clients while managing multiple projects with competing priorities across business lines. Participation in first of its kind projects is to be expected as the industry is evolving.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

FUTURE-GRID AND WHOLESALE GENERATION TEAMS

* Coordination of generation scheduling activities / reporting for wholesale load, generation, and Demand Response clients including the optimization of In-front of the Meter (IFM) and Behind the Meter (BtM) Energy Storage and paired resources using internally developed proprietary software.
* Development of settlement reports, monitoring tools, and other methods of assisting clients in maximizing efficiency and revenue in the CAISO market.
* Participate in market analysis projects focused on the CAISO market, but possibly involving other areas of the deregulated energy markets.
* Participate in public forums at the CAISO or other industry events, identify prospective clients, including developing relationships with key industry associations and participating in joint promotional efforts.
* Serve as Client Relations lead for CA Region.
* Develop/negotiate proposals for projects and communicate with clients, or prospective clients, to revise, refine, and / or adapt proposals to client needs.
* Analyze settlement statements, file disputes and identify invoice discrepancies.
* Develop and modify modeling tools utilized in energy resource assessments and related analyses.
* Guide clients on wholesale market issues, rule changes, financial impacts, etc.
* Work with other business areas within CES to leverage skill sets and existing relationships in order to provide exceptional customer service and maximize opportunities to provide clients with the full range of CES products and services.

EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES TEAM

* Contribute to consulting projects related to any of the above.
