Job description
As the Inside Applications Specialist/Applications Lab Manager, you will be responsible for developing and growing Inside application specialists to support the team's capability to meet local focus market segments and related customer requirement and fit our technical leading position with our company's image as a total solution provider. You will build, manage, and lead the inside applications team as well as our Applications Lab, in Fremont, CA, in accordance with the strategy, operational plan and priorities of the division to achieve our sales target especially in converting and creating the new business.
What you will accomplish together with us:
- Lead and develop a team of Field Application Specialists through an effective training program, personnel development and mentoring with focus on Separations, Purification, Single-Use, Bioreaction, Cell Culture Media, Cell Line Development and Testing.
- Allocate and manage the In-house Application Specialist resources in conjunction with Business Area or Regional managers.
- Create harmonized working practices for In-house Application Specialist resources across the Business Areas or Regions.
- Develop and track KPI's whilst ensuring adherence to Budgets
- Provide technical and applications support to internal customers as well as to external customers, primarily via remote communication methods such as telephone, e-mail or through a live chat.
- Clearly explains methods and techniques of installing, handling and operating SSB products to customers via remote communication methods.
- Manage the Applications Lab and coordinate technical resources to execute studies and trials.
- Reply to public tenders in conjunction with In-house Sales and Sales Support
- Recommend SSB solutions in response to customer inquiries and provide information to Sales Support to be able to provide quotations on complete systems.
- Review & comment user requirement specification documents generated by customers on SSB products
- Provide cross-references to competitor products with comparable SSB products to sales to assist in conversion business.
- Remote Troubleshoot of customer problems with SSB products and resolve issues to customer satisfaction
- Coordinate and support customer meetings at Corporate facility
- Coordinate all product evaluations with internal stakeholders
- Coordinate AS resources needed for customer and internal trainings in conjunction with the Manager of Business Area and Training department
What will convince us:
- BSc or MSc Degree, Graduate in biological engineering or life sciences
- 3+ Year's biopharmaceutical industry experience, R&D/PD/Scale-up/GMP preferred
- Product and application expertise for the relevant portfolio
- Hands-on experience for key applications
- Ability to effectively interface with product/project/division management
- Ability to interact at various levels (sales, technical, users)
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize activities accordingly
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Computer proficient in Windows-based software package including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
