Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, Executive Management, this position is accountable for establishing and operationalizing strategies and tactics that will develop and continually enhance the business, identity and market leadership of Saint Agnes Medical Center. Consistent with the Mission and business philosophy of Saint Agnes Medical Center, the incumbent will manage the Saint Agnes Development Division which includes: New Business Development, Physician Services and Joint Business Ventures, Physician Recruitment, IPA/Foundation Model Network Planning and Development and Property Planning and Development. Additionally, this position will serve as a Chairman, Officer or Chief Operating Officer of businesses and boards as may be determined by the President. Through these functions, the incumbent will lead the evaluation of healthcare reform and other emerging industry and market place trends to meet Trinity Health, hospital, physician, mission and community needs, and guide the new business planning of Saint Agnes Medical Center. The incumbent will advise and consult with Trinity Health senior leadership, SAMC Board of Directors, senior leadership and physician leadership and recommend appropriate responses to opportunities to improve and develop SAMC and Trinity Health. The incumbent will also lead a variety of special projects and initiatives all focused on the continual development and improvement of Saint Agnes Medical Center.
1. A Graduate Degree in Business or a related field is required.
2. Experience in a senior executive leadership role in Business Administration, Strategic Planning, Development or Public Policy is required, preferably with an integrated health delivery system or healthcare provider.
3. The incumbent must have proven his/her ability to successfully negotiate and influence others (especially physicians) to reach goals imperative for the organization.
4. The incumbent must also have a proven track record in strategic orientation and successful negotiation with physicians.
5. The incumbent must have the ability to translate data and vision into operational goals and outcomes and to manage and coordinate.
6. Special skills that are required of this seasoned professional include business acumen, highly developed leadership and communication skills, the ability to provide clear and unvarnished opinions as to what is best for the organization, excellent problem solving skills, the ability to work comfortably with physicians, the ability to think strategically and recognize opportunities for
improvement and advancement, as well as the sense of urgency to bring results.
