Job Description

Job Summary:

Responsible for business development and sales activities associated with Automotive customers, specifically those customers who are involved in ADAS and Autonomous Driving initiatives with thermal cameras as part of a full sensor suite.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new sales opportunities for FLIR ADAS/AD.
  • Proactively promote and conduct demonstrations, attend trade shows, prepare articles and other activities that build awareness of FLIR IR camera cores specifically for ADAS and AD.
  • Prepare presentation material for customers and FLIR teams, as needed.
  • Deliver customer feedback to assist product management, sales and marketing with the formulation of new product specifications to meet the needs of the market.
  • Respond to technical requests from prospective customers and provide answers to technical questions. Identify competitive situations where additional focus may be required.
  • Manage multiple customer engagements.
  • Analyze competition and supply pro/con analyses of products encountered.
  • Be proficient in US regulations - for ADAS, AD and thermal cameras.
  • Use FLIR CRM extensively with an emphasis on daily updates.
  • Travel extensively (domestic and international) to develop new business, maintain existing customer accounts, to support several trade shows annually and attend various off-site FLIR meetings.
  • Perform other job-related duties, as required.


Requirements:
  • College degree in engineering or physics (or other "hard" science).
  • Ten years minimum in sales and/or business development role specifically in the automotive industry.
  • Technical background with experience in autonomous driving sensors (radar, lidar, visible cameras or IR cameras).
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, time management, and writing skills.
  • Proven positive job performance and a history of developing thorough communications, maintaining relationships, and managing a robust professional network.
  • Ability to acquire and report accurate customer, market, product, and forecast information.
  • Career experience displaying a continued increase in responsibilities and an established desire for continued professional growth.
  • Exceptional decision making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexibility and ability to cope with, and quickly adapt to, changing priorities, special assignments and workload re-prioritization.
  • Strong collaborative and teamwork skills.
  • Negotiation skills to balance FLIR needs and customer needs to achieve win-win solutions.
  • Ability to navigate internal organizations including, Contract, Finance, Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Legal and Compliance, as needed to execute assigned duties.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Dynamics CRM programs.
  • Understanding of variable compensation and how to achieve goals associated with same.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, if needed.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak using the English language.
  • Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
