Job description

Position Overview:

Prepares and analyzes financial reports, including balance sheets, income and loss statement and other reports. Responsible for routine accounting functions in Accounting Department. Work involves attention to detail and working under general supervision of the Assistant Controller. Perform related duties as required.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly schedules of various balance sheet accounts such as inventory, receivables, liabilities, prepaids, etc...

  • Prepare journal entries.

  • Analyze profit and loss fluctuations.

  • Assist in preparing Financial Statements of Partnerships, Limited Liability Companies, C corporations and S corporations, and Trusts.

  • Assist with reviewing tax returns of above entities.

  • A Team Player that will support the Accountingteamin providing vital financial information in a timely manner to Management.

  • Assist with government filings such sales tax returns, property tax returns, VAT returns, and census returns.

  • Assist with audits by various Governmental Agencies.

  • Maintains financial security by following internal controls

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Skills and Experience:

  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Outlook, Word, QuickBooks

  • Ability to work well under pressure.

  • Act as a team player; be self-motivated, detail-oriented, focused, and energetic.

  • Take pride and ownership of the workload.

  • Experience with an AS400 system is a plus.

  • Have excellent organization and communications

  • Accurate, good with numbers.

  • Knowledge of 10 key.

  • Ability to perform in multi-task environment.

  • Ability to interface with all levels of management.


Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred

  • At least 4 to 5 years of accounting experience and general office skills.

  • Maintaining knowledge of changes in accounting field


Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regulatory required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, grasp, hold and manipulate office equipment and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to carry up to 15 pounds alone. The employee may occasionally be required to balance or climb short distances. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus with or without ocular aides
