We currently seeking a Geologist or Environmental Scientist (Mid-Level) with outstanding technical capabilities who can help us advance our practices. Our project base includes environmental site assessments and complex site investigations, often coupled with the application of innovative site remediation technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Performing Phase I ESAs.
- Field oversight of site investigations, contamination assessments, hydrogeologic investigations, Phase II ESAs, aquifer testing, including chemical and hydrogeological data evaluation and mapping, data visualization, regulatory agency interactions, and reporting.
- Performing field work including collecting soil, soil vapor, and groundwater samples, remediation system operation and maintenance, and air quality monitoring.
- Logging soils using ASTM and/or Unified Soil Classification System.
- Evaluating, designing, and implementing a variety of remediation programs.
- Scoping and delivering a variety of project assignments, including responsibility for budget and schedule management.
The selected individual will report to senior personnel but will be expected to be able to work largely independently, while following Tetra Tech's risk and quality management policies. At times, the selected individual may delegate assignments to junior personnel and be responsible for overseeing completion of tasks within budgetary, schedule, and other internal and external constraints. Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in geology, earth sciences, hydrogeology, or environmental science or similar degree.
- 3 to 7 years of direct relevant work experience.
- Familiarity with technical requirements for environmental site investigations and groundwater monitoring in California.
- Experience with ASTM Environmental Site Assessments.
- This position requires 40 hours of OSHA health and safety training for working with potentially contaminated materials, annual 8-hour refresher courses, first aid training (every three years), CPR training (every year), and annual medical monitoring (training provided as needed).
- The ability and willingness to perform field work and travel are also required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word.
- Experience logging soils following the USCS and/or ASTM standards.
- Possesses strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and have good interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to sometimes work long hours in the field under sometimes adverse conditions.
- A valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and have no criminal record.
- Excellent technical writing skills for environmental consulting applications are required as are outstanding engineering/scientific problem-solving abilities.

Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 Yr.
