Job description

We are looking for a talented Lead Production Systems Analyst who will be responsible for operationally supporting all systems and sub-systems for a platform. Responsibilities include ensuring proper monitoring, establishing & reviewing performance baselines & metrics, serving as the point of contact for escalating incidents and problems for the applications/systems, and owning all tasks related to problem management and resolution. The individual works closely with Product Management, Development, QA and Engineering to ensure the success of the platform post-release. Align Product, Development, and Engineering on the introduction of new technologies to ensure the operational team knows how to support and monitor the new technology. Assists management in strategic planning, process improvements, and cross-functional improvements relating to platform operations. The individual would be part of a team with a rotating on-call schedule after hours.


What You'll Be Doing:

Technical Expertise: Gain an in-depth understanding of the applications and their functionality and the technical operational processes of the underlying platform. Demonstrate knowledge on the interaction of all the systems & sub-systems, how data flows, where failures are logged, & how they need to be monitored. Pursue continuing education opportunities to grow technical skills.

Performance & Monitoring: Ensure all aspects of the platforms systems & sub-systems have monitoring to facilitate quick resolution to system issues and minimize downtime including when new technologies are introduced into the environment. Through the utilization of APM tools and internal data, establish a performance baseline and create automation to monitor and alert when changes occur to the environment. Analyze and report on any deviation discovered during review of performance metrics.

Application Support: Act as primary escalation for the analysis and troubleshooting of the platform and provide detailed root cause analysis for software application issues to our customers and internal staff. Lead the creation of solutions, automation, tools, & scripts to aid in quicker resolution & recovery from system issues.

Reporting: Review application incidents, trends, and report problems to the product team to help improve the stability, security, supportability, & performance of the platform. Design and implement improved processes for support tasks. Provide weekly reports to management relating to tickets, projects, & support work.



The Ideal Candidate:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or information technology, or equivalent IT work experience

Experience:

  • A minimum of five years technical experience working with information technologies and systems analysis
  • Experience in technical documentation, testing, training, and implementing new applications and systems as well as collaborating with internal IT teams
  • Experience deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting core business applications, including application servers, associated hardware, endpoints, and databases

  • Experience with collaborating and coordinating with internal IT teams to resolve application issues
  • Advanced knowledge of windows architecture, including .NET, Windows Server, & IIS
  • In-depth understanding of relational databases
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology, or equivalent experience
  • 4-6 years experience working with information technologies and systems analysis
  • Strong computer, hardware, software, and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to assess business needs and translate them into relevant solutions
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of the principles and practices associated with database maintenance and administration
  • Experience installing, configuring, documenting, testing, training, and implementing new applications and systems
  • Working knowledge of a wide variety of programming languages
  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical users

  • Provide documentation of all processes and training as needed
  • Translate technical specifications into clear non-technical requirements
