Helen of Troy's internship is a 10-week program (June 2022-August 2022), which requires 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. We empower our interns with opportunities to work on business challenges aligned to your educational goals! You will have the opportunity to network with executives, give back through planned community events and participate in fun social events with your intern peers. Your peers and managers will support and improve your leadership skills and experience.
What you will be doing:
Assist in assembling a technical dossier of current and new formulations, packaging specifications and related documents (documents will be sourced both internally and externally through our third-party manufacturers)
Exposure to learning chemical formulation of personal care products (basic raw material chemistry)
Work with third-party technical assets to acquire technical data in relation to finished product specifications
Assist with the creation of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) policies using technical data
Skills needed to be successful in this role:
Background and knowledge in science, preferably Chemistry
Curiosity approach - be inquisitive
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) - be comfortable with presenting to small groups
Minimum Qualifications:
Full-Time undergraduate or graduate student (Must be at least a rising Sophomore or Junior of a four-year degree program)
Major / field of study related to applicable internship (Science-related)
Works well in a collaborative environment and able to work with diverse groups amidst varied objectives
Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Preferred Qualifications:
Basic understanding of organic chemistry nomenclature (intro course or equivalent) and scientific principles (pH, acid/base, phases of matter)
