Solugenix is assisting a client, a prestigious and large investment management company in their search for a Senior Contract Specialist. This is a 12-month contract opportunity based out of Irvine, CA.

The Senior Contract Specialist provides support to the Procurement department, which provides services for the Client on an enterprise level. The department works closely with internal customers and colleagues to understand business requirements for goods and services and to fulfill those needs in all areas of indirect spend; this includes information technology, professional services, facilities, equipment, and supplies. The Procurement Specialist will focus on the administration, management, and negotiation of complex and/or high dollar acquisitions in these areas.

Qualifications:

Requires a minimum of 5-6 years of advanced contracting/sourcing experience with mastery of strategic and tactical procurement principles, practices, and models.

Bachelor's degree and CPSM certification is preferred but not required.

Experience in other disciplines is preferred but not required (e.g., Finance, Sales, Operations, etc.).

For roles focused on information technology, broad knowledge of the technology industry, technologies, original equipment manufacturer (OEM), and channel relationships is preferred.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills to all audience levels, including the ability to effectively conduct complex project/program meetings and influence others.

Responsibilities:

Follows the established procurement protocol to serve each area's needs. For information technology, specifically, works closely with the Vendor Management Office (VMO) to support the IT Vendor Engagement and Contract Management Process.

Strategizes, plans, and executes the commercial aspects of that process which includes the RFX process, vendor negotiations, and contracting.

Participates with the business area and VMO in overall vendor strategy including spend analysis, vendor and product/service research, benchmarking, vendor viability, and risk mitigation.

Develops, scopes, constructs, issues, and coordinates requests for Information, Quotation, and Proposal, based on the business requirements.

Evaluates and manages RFX vendor responses and provides analysis and recommendations to the business area.

Conducts bidders' conferences, vendor site visits, and reference checks.

Develops negotiation strategies and leads buy teams through the negotiation of complex contract provisions and total cost of ownership.

Coordinates with Legal, Insurance, and Risk departments in contract development.

Awards and administers contracts; issues purchase orders, statements of work (SOWs), and amendments.

Supports business areas and the VMO in managing overall vendor performance.

Ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues (e.g., VMO, IT, Legal, Risk, etc.), and Suppliers to deliver consistently excellent results and value for stakeholders.

Ability to manage ambiguity and change while working in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment.
