The Engineer Product Transfer is responsible for determining the optimal manufacturing methods and processes for producing company products from start-up, building the product line, through satisfactory production.

This position is part of the Manufacturing / Process Engineering department and will be located in Lodi, CA. At Cepheid, our vision is to ensure that every patient has access to the right diagnostic test at the right time.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Actively participate in the transfer and launch of assays into production as a representative of Technical Operations to ensure successful manufacturing transfer and ramp.
  • Assess manufacturing variation and stability throughout the life cycle of assay in production. Conduct manufacturing readiness review meetings for assay transfer and production scale.
  • As appropriate, serve as a technical liaison for other departments with regards to assay production transfer activities, including, but not limited to, equipment / process setup, manufacturing consumables, engineering control limits, reference materials, equipment process windows, and product or consumables testing
  • Lead, coordinate, or participate in operations-related activities required for the transfer products to routine production.
  • Develop and maintain production documentation including procedures, worksheets, and equipment bills of materials.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelors in Chemical Engineering, Bio Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of related work OR Masters/Ph.D degree.
  • Experience with Real Time PCR
  • Experience with Manufacturing Production Processes / Equipment

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience with Quality System Regulations.
  • Familiarity with medical device regulations in US and CE markets
  • Familiarity with infectious disease or cancer biology.
