The Courtyard by Marriott Long Beach Airport is looking for an affable, dynamic, and ambitious Director of Sales to join our team. This person will be a member of the Executive Committee and will have input into all major strategic decisions involving the hotel. The successful candidate's sphere of influence will extend throughout all departments, not just Sales. Job Description: Develop and manage overall sales effort and key accounts for the hotel. Will also be a member of the Revenue Management Team, meeting regularly to discuss rate strategies and maximization. Manage and motivate sales effort for entire team to include a systematic and comprehensive marketing plan.

Responsibilities:

•Maintain and further develop existing accounts.

•Develop and solicit new accounts through networking and competitive research.

• Follow up promptly to any leads from Marriott One Source

• Work with Front Office to understand the PMS and manage yield.

• Ensure that necessary group and corporate detail is related to the front desk.

• Be a leader and role model to all employees.

• Keep up-to-date on all brand standards and initiatives.

• Develop and maintain good relationships with officials and representatives of local community groups and companies.

• Develop and track the departmental budget.

• Comply with all hotel policies and perform other job duties as assigned by the General Manager.

• Professionally represent the hotel to customers and industry organizations with a strong customer service mind set.
