HR Generalist

Summary Description:

  • The HR Generalist is an exempt position that provides clerical and data entry support in the Human Resources Office.
  • Reports to the Assistant to the V.P. Corporate Compliance & H.R
  • Performs a variety of complex, responsible, and confidential clerical duties requiring knowledge of Human Resources and organizational procedures and performs related work as required.
  • Responsible for EEO requirements and reporting
  • Back-up for all processes involving Drug Screening and Background Checks, DOT Compliance, Immigration compliance, and previous employment verifications.

Exemplary Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire process of all Leave of Absences in conjunction with the Payroll Manager.
  • Review all disciplinary documentation.
  • Responsible for A.C.A. reporting.
  • Provides all verification and documentation to interested parties. Assists with employment verifications.
  • Files documents daily into employee personnel files.
  • Maintains accurate personnel files reviewing them every year.
  • Assists at the Reception area as needed.
  • In the absence of the Human Resources Manager, he/she will supervise, trains, and delegate's duties and responsibilities to the Human Resource Specialist, Human Resource Receptionist and Intake Specialist.
  • Assist in the Creation, implementation, and evaluation of all human resource department policies, procedures, and structures.
  • Manages health and life insurance programs.
  • Assist the Director of Education in the designing and implementing effective training and development plans.
  • Assist the Director of Education with the performance of quarterly and annual employee performance reviews.
  • Responsible for all new hire and termination information into the database.
  • Responsible for preparing COBRA notices for employees and COBRA administration in Ceridian Dayforce Database.
  • Responsible for enrollment, monitoring and testing for DOT Compliance.
  • Verifies the entry of all new hire and termination information into the Ceridian Dayforce database.

Knowledge:
  • Ceridian Dayforce Usage and Expert Knowledge preferred.
  • Must be able to work well with all employees and the public in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Must be able to work well with diversified cultures, a developmentally disabled population and all persons with barriers to employment.
  • Preferred knowledge of OSHA and its record keeping requirements.
