Job description

Reporting to the Director of Sales Planning and Strategy, the Sales Finance Manager will be a key Finance partner to Sales Planning to drive growth and profitability. Responsibilities include financial analysis support for sales, trade spend analytics, pricing, customer P&Ls, and new product P&Ls. Additionally, the incumbent will play a critical role in the review and assessment of monthly/quarterly/annual results and preparation of volume and trade forecasts.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides deep analytics of volume, price, mix, and customer promotions
  • Manages and oversees all customer pricing procedures, analysis, and development.
  • Assists in the development of customer pricing strategies that align to business targets.
  • Develops financial models and analysis to support strategic initiatives
  • Advances customer P&Ls and associated reporting needed to communicate customer results against plan
  • Partners with Sales Planning and Trade and Sales Planning Manager to align month-end trade
  • Responsible for Quarterly Business Review analytics and content
  • Supports new products pricing strategies, develops formula pricing models, and other methods of pricing to protect overall margin structure and ensure accurate customer pricing.
  • Partners with customer teams to improve periodic sales and trade estimates, through insightful questions and analysis
  • Supports Finance leadership in delivering Profitable Revenue Growth Management and capabilities by driving new processes, tools, and insights
  • Collaborates with Finance leadership and Sales leadership to highlight customer investment opportunities and efficiencies
  • Assists with pre-spend and post-spend promotional analytics to drive higher ROI and margin delivery
  • Provides timely and accurate analytics to support actionable and strategic business decisions
  • Conducts Ad hoc financial analysis (Business case evaluation, pricing reviews, etc.)


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • 7+ years' experience in a Finance position in a mid to large consumer goods business
  • Experience working within a customer/sales finance team and understanding of go-to-market trade strategies in a CPG organization
  • Exceptional financial acumen: analytical, financial modeling and reporting skills required
  • High proficiency with MS Excel & PowerPoint

Education:

  • BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required

Experience and Background:

  • Team player, upbeat, and focused, with a strong passion to learn and succeed

  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines and taking initiative to make confident and well-informed decisions
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels in an organization
