We are seeking an Accountant to join our lean and agile team. The primary purpose of this job is to ensure that payments are processed accurately and efficiently for both payroll and expenses.

Key Job Functions

General Requirements

* Ensure payrolls for multiple states including hourly employees are processed accurately and on a timely basis.
* Liaison with state governments to ensure payroll tax compliance requirements are met.
* Act as the administrator for US PEO Payroll system, coordinating with account manager & HR to resolve Payroll activities.
* Coordinate with HR to process final pay for terminations.
* Posting payroll journal entries into accounting system.
* Prepare monthly wage accruals for hourly employees.
* Prepare quarterly vacation accruals.
* Perform year-end reconciliations and process tax forms.
* Perform employee onboarding and termination procedures.
* Respond to employee and manager questions regarding payroll.
* Regularly liaison with Human Resources to ensure information is accurate and controls are followed.

Accounts Payable

* Process expenses report and accounts payable in an accurate and timely manner
* Match invoices to documentation and obtain appropriate approvals.
* Investigate all discrepancies and provide resolutions as required.
* Perform account reconciliations as required.
* Communicate effectively with leadership, internal and external stakeholder and ensure all policies are adhered to.
* Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
* Review corporate credit card statements and perform monthly reconciliations.
* Prepare payment as required
* Other responsibilities as required.

Requirements

* 3+ years of experience in processing US payroll for a company with over 100 employees including hourly payroll.
* Understanding of State Payroll laws, specifically for California and Arizona.
* Prior experience working with a PEO (Justworks, ADP, etc.).
* Payroll experience with California and Arizona is required.
* Experience in Accounts Payable and posting journal entries, experience with SAP is assets
* Experience with manufacturing company desired
* Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance highly desirable
* Must be a self-starter, able to work in ambiguous situations with minimal oversight.
* Ability to pivot and work on short deadlines when required.
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and proven ability to adopt digital solutions for the role.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
