Position Overview


The Director of Brand Marketing is responsible for leading the strategic development of all marketing initiatives to support the brand objectives for our global physical stores, ecommerce and digital channels. This includes partnering with all areas of the organization to craft annual and seasonal strategies to be communicated through all channels, making sure to bring the brand and product stories to life in compelling ways. This position provides strategic oversight and connectivity across marketing channels, ensuring that our brand message is effectively communicated to the target audience. The developed marketing programs must inspire customers, amplify brand relevance and drive revenue.


The Director must be a change-agent and brand guardian, focused on driving growth through creative uses of traditional and non-traditional vehicles, as they are expected to conceive, plan, and execute winning and innovative campaigns. They are responsible for maintaining brand integrity and messaging across all company marketing initiatives and communication plans. The Director will continuously monitor trends and keep a close eye on competitive retailers' efforts in the marketplace. They are customer-centric in their approach and have a deep knowledge and appreciation for marketing mix and data.


Responsibilities


  • Develop and drive a 360 integrated marketing plan, establish KPIs, analyze performance, report on learnings and deliver a positive ROI on all activity
  • Oversee the execution of marketing plan, photoshoots, content development, and social and influencer strategies
  • Develop strategic multi-channel marketing campaigns to drive growth and engagement, including digital, social, email, print and video
  • Manage and launch new marketing platforms/technologies and channels to improve team efficiencies and innovation
  • Head channel marketing strategy, oversee marketing deliverables, work closely with retail marketing teams to amplify product launches
  • Lead and manage strategic marketing partnerships with external collaborators such as PR agencies, non-profit organizations, and brands
  • Create and manage marketing calendar including seasonal campaigns, events, brand pop-ups
  • Manage partnerships with celebrities and influencers to grow the brand and manage all marketing touch-points


Skills


  • 8-10+ years in marketing
  • Must have experience in retail, preferably brick and mortar and ecommerce
  • Must have a great eye for design and the ability to research and track the latest trends
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills that allow for a proactive approach to the business and organizational skills necessary to complete multiple tasks within deadlines
  • Must possess basic Microsoft and Excel skills
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator is required
  • Entrepreneurial in nature, embraces collaboration, understands the importance of protecting the Fred Segal brand, with a track record starting and growing an online business with limited financial and human capital resources
  • Strong Analytical background, capable of diving into data but also create concise, actionable recommendations
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with exceptional execution and problem-solving capabilities; comfortable with doing work in the trenches while still maintaining a strategic perspective
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID by date of hire
