Overview

Founded in 1887, Dignity Health - California Hospital Medical Center is a 318-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in downtown Los Angeles. The hospital offers a full complement of services including a Level II trauma center, the Los Angeles Center for Women's Health, obstetrics and pediatric services, and comprehensive cardiac and surgical services. Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Performs duties in support of and in compliance with the performance improvement plan, JCAHO and other licensing, accrediting and regulatory agencies. Will assist in various aspects of the hospital's financial reporting including:

a) Projecting hospital volumes, revenues and expenses for continued operations and business plans for new operations

b) Assisting senior leadership and the CFO in analyzing hospital, foundation and joint ventures results of operations and financial position and recommending areas of improvement

c) Comparing monthly operating results of the hospital with other Dignity Health hospitals, industry benchmarks and competitors

d) Analyzing, researching and preparing reports, including narrative explanations on departmental quarterly and prior year variances.

Will assist in the development and maintenance of the hospital productivity reporting system including:

a) Accumulating and tracking departmental productivity and other benchmarking information,

b) Reporting results to Administrative Director/Finance, department managers and senior hospital management.

Qualifications

Requirements:

* Three years financial analyst experience in a hospital setting
* B. S. degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.
* Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft PowerPoint, Kronos Visionware Productivity System, database applications, procedural cost accounting systems and query based finance systems.
* Experience with departmental productivity, projecting hospital volumes, revenues and expenses.
