The Role:
As the Head of People (Human Resources) at Virgin Hyperloop, you'll develop talent, leadership, and culture for our domestic and international offices. In addition to defining our company culture, the Head of People will create and lead programs that celebrate and expand our ever growing team. You'll also be responsible for ensuring a safe, supportive, and productive environment for everyone.

Day to Day:
* Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership while shaping company initiatives based on people and data insights
* Create and implement robust strategies for personal and professional development & growth, total rewards, internal communications, and employee engagement
* Ensure excellence in all aspects of the recruiting process, by building and managing a high-performance team: how we source candidates, how we engage them and tell our story, how we interview and educate candidates, how team members invest time to become great recruiters and interviewers, how we make offers and onboard candidates, and even how we tell candidates they aren't the right fit
* Align department initiatives with company mission by creating department short- and long-term objectives
* Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Talent Operations team
* Work with the CEO, executive team and Board of Directors to set compensation and benefits policies and strategies for all employees in all functions at the company
* Develop policies to uphold legal standards and promote our culture and values
* Conduct investigations, recommend and implement corrective actions, and counsel employees and managers - guided by our policies, process, industry best practices, and relevant labor laws
* Ensure our core HR processes (e.g., performance management, compensation planning, surveys, 360 reviews, workforce planning, employee handbook, policies and compliance) and systems (payroll and benefits, internal communications and support) are a competitive differentiator and truly showcase our culture
* Develop and track equity, diversity and inclusion metrics at the organizational level
* Develop and manage departmental budgets
* Establish processes to set clear goals and accountability across the organization
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
* Experience across the full spectrum of Human Resources including Recruiting, Organizational Development, Learning & Development/Training, and Talent Management
* At least 10 years of talent development and retention in a systems product organization. Systems represented by a combination of hardware, software, support and professional services. Autonomous vehicle and systems experience strongly preferred
* Direct experience or knowledge of hiring practices in EMEA (India and the Middle East, specifically)
* Track record of developing and implementing people programs, especially for diversity & inclusion or personal & professional development
* Proven ability to develop, execute and monitor effective compensation plans across an organization
* Track record of execution on forward leaning strategies to maintain strong bench strength
* Proven ability to build effective partnership and coach senior leaders, managers, and employees
* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Sociology, or any other relevant field or equivalent work experience
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
* Experience in a start-up or engineering environment
* Experience with mid-to-late stage ventures
* SHRM or SPHR certification
* Graduate degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Sociology, Business or any other relevant field
* Experience with Global Mobility, Compensation & Benefits, HRIS, or HR Compliance
