Grifols, a global multi-billion dollar healthcare company, is seeking to hire a Finance Manager within its Plasma Operations Controlling team based in Los Angeles, California. The Finance Manager, reporting to the Director of Finance Controlling, will primarily focus on financial planning and analysis, forecast/budgeting cycles, management reporting, and cross-functional business support to the CapEx and Facilities departments, Corporate Controlling, Accounting & Reporting, Procurement, FP&A, and the Finance Shared Services Center. She/he will also play an important role is assisting with the timely and accurate monthly financial close and will work closely with the US Director of Finance in evaluating and implementing end-to-end process change initiatives to drive efficiencies, reduce costs, streamline BU workflows, and implement BU strategic growth initiatives.
* Manages the Finance support function to the Real Estate and Facilities teams (CapEx), providing financial analysis and systems/process expertise to help ensure the business partners and their teams understand financial implications to decisions/actions;
* Ensures his/her team provides assistance with CIP tracking, RCE status review and closures, reviews/reclassifications of repair & maintenance expenses, open CapEx Purchase Order analysis, etc.
* Manages the budgeting/forecast for his/her areas of responsibility (including creation and detailed assessments, and ensuring complete and accurate reflection in SAP/BI reporting modules);
* Gathers, prepares, consolidates and analyzes data for monthly financial management reporting (actuals vs budget/forecast, expense analysis, cost trending review, etc.), including that for the North America management committee, corporate KPI scorecards, and various other reporting;
* Supports internal expansion and/or acquisitions by assisting with the integration of Finance/Accounting processes and systems, and provides support with the onboarding activities of other functions (e.g. Operations, Accounts Payable, Vendor Master);
* Manages the financial control of contracts, drafting/reviewing financial executive summaries and ensuring compliance with commitments, obligations, & rebates;
* Seeks out and prioritizes business process improvement opportunities that eliminate non-value added work and redundant efforts;
* Partners with the management team in the formulation of business and financial plans, providing expertise for understanding key business and cost drivers, including headcount, capital expenditures, process inefficiencies, etc.;
* Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Corporate Finance policies and procedures to ensure proper and consistent application within Grifols Plasma Operations;
* Performs financial analysis of BS and P&L activity to identify potential cost savings. Follows through on drafting and implementing initiatives;
* Collaborates with various functions as the Finance representative on ad-hoc projects sponsored by Corporate (e.g. systems interfaces);
* Responsible for coaching, mentoring, hiring and firing of staff. Perform annual and mid-year reviews of all staff.
* Assists with ad-hoc requests received from executive management and other departments (e.g. Operations, Corporate Accounting, IT, etc.)
Education, Skills, Experience
* BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field required. CPA or MBA preferred.
* 8 years or more of well-rounded financial experience required. 2-3 years of management experience. Pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience preferred.
* Strong knowledge of IFRS/US GAAP standards, Finance function issues, and end-to-end business processes. Excellent software skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with the ability to prioritize and multi-task activities in a deadline-driven environment. Previous experience with SAP a plus. Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical and planning skills are required to effectively work with different functions and upper management.
