General Position Summary

Assists customers in selecting, ordering and fitting eyewear under the supervision of Dispensing Optician; provides a high level of customer service in accordance with company standards; fosters good relations between team members; and provides support as requested by the Dispensing Optician, the Assistant Store Manager, and the Store Manager.

Operations & Service Management

  • Evaluate the customer's prescription and visual requirements to recommend specific lenses, lens coatings, frames, and features as appropriate for each customer.
  • Provide direct support to customers in selecting, ordering, fitting, and adjusting eyewear; taking facial measurements (including measuring pupilary distance, temple length, bridge, eye size, optical centers, and bifocal placement); taking facial measurements; and ensuring that eyewear meets facial measurements and optical prescriptions under the supervision of the Dispensing Optician.
  • Welcome customers in a prompt and friendly manner; maintain a pleasant and professional demeanor when

performing job duties, especially when interacting with customers.

  • Perform sales activities including providing customer assistance, processing payments, sales, and

returns, and responding to customer inquiries.

  • Inform customers of the store's return and replacement policy, product and pricing information, warranty, and the proper use and care of eyewear.
  • Attend regular staff meetings with Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager to understand company

announcements and daily sales goals.

  • Attend mandatory training and fully understand contents in order to provide excellent customer service in

accordance with company standards.

  • Maintain records of customer prescriptions, orders, payments, and other patient or business records in

compliance with company policy and applicable privacy laws concerning patient information.

  • Assemble eyeglasses by cutting and edging lenses, and fitting lenses into frames.

Other & Miscellaneous

  • Assist the Customer Service Center as appropriate to respond to customers' e-mail inquiries and calls

regarding the retail store, complaints, and product information.

  • Maintain and organize product inventory on the sales floor and in warehouse storage.
  • Perform retail cashier duties.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • Previous retail and customer service experience
  • Previous sales or cashier experience preferred
  • Must be responsible, reliable, and punctual
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends
