Job description
Group Nine Media is looking for a weekend social producer who will create original editorial content for POPSUGAR's Instagram channels, with a focus Our ideal candidate has their finger on the pulse of pop-culture news, celebrity, fashion, and entertainment, and has brand experience that equips them with the storytelling and social media skills to effortlessly translate it all to Instagram, Instagram Stories, and Reels. This is a full-time, remote-eligible position with a five-day workweek to include Saturdays and Sundays.
The Social Content Producer will lead by example in demonstrating Group Nine's values: Care Deeply, Be Brave, Go First, Do Good, Stay Close and Win Together.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Program and create daily, trending, and feature-style Instagram feed posts, Stories, and Reels for POPSUGAR's main Instagram account
- Maintain a deep understanding of Instagram and what kind of content works across feed, Stories, and Reels, and how to use them creatively, and be able to create a compelling and cohesive story across several slides or in a short-form video
- Contribute to, engage with, and brainstorm ideas for trending and news-worthy stories across all POPSUGAR Instagram accounts
- Post breaking or trending stories and produce social content during weekends with minimal oversight
- Collaborate with brand partners on native content as needed
SUCCESS WILL LOOK LIKE:
- Demonstrating excellent news judgment and quickly covering breaking trending and pop-culture news
- Pitching and posting 4-7 IG feed posts daily, and pitching, writing and producing 2-3 trending Instagram Stories per week, and keeping on top of community engagement across all POPSUGAR Instagram accounts during weekend shifts.
- Contribute to achieving social content team growth and engagement goals
MUST HAVES:
- At least 5 years of social media experience working in editorial, brand, or social-media marketing
- A demonstrated understanding of all Instagram platform tools and best practices
- An interest in using insights and data to evaluate the performance of Instagram content and to guide future content and creative concepts
- A commitment to inclusivity in content and the ability to confidently work weekend shifts with minimal guidance and direction
- A high degree of drive, energy, accountability and initiative
- Experience producing content for short-form social platforms (Snapchat, Instagram, and/or TikTok) and an understanding of how to produce and optimize vertical content
- Strong writing and communication skills
- A genuine interest in and aptitude for pop-culture, entertainment, fashion, and celebrity
- Available to work occasional nights and holidays, as needed
