Sustainability Project Manager
Summary
JLL is seeking a Sustainability Project Manager to support the West Region's sustainability efforts on high-profile projects and consulting assignments for real estate owners and occupiers. We work with some of the most recognizable and influential companies in the world, shaping impactful real estate strategies and solutions of the future. (Key candidate locations: San Francisco/Bay Area, Los Angeles/Orange County, San Diego, Seattle, Denver, Portland, Salt Lake City, Phoenix)
As a Sustainability Project Manager at JLL, you will be directly responsible for leading and delivering sustainability solutions. For real estate projects, your strong knowledge of the construction process supports your ability to see through the eyes of all stakeholders. You will manage certification documentation, tracking metrics, reports, schedules, and meeting minutes. Additionally, you will support our clients with strategic advisory services for singular or ongoing assignments. These may include program establishment and visioning, benchmarking and reporting, or other ESG-related work. This could also include tactical projects, like Design & Construction standards development. You are a big picture thinker with detail-oriented delivery. You will be focused on the client experience by providing innovative solutions to conflicting priorities. You are eager to explore emerging strategies, passionate to research and strategize solutions. You are proactive and can think ahead to anticipate the needs of the team regarding market trends, data accuracy, research, and project management related technology.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible for the successful development and delivery of all activities related to achieving environmental and sustainability objectives for projects. Projects may be fit-outs, retrofits, building upgrades, energy and sustainability projects, new development, advisory and custom sustainability toolkit/playbook development
* Consistently demonstrate subject matter expertise on energy performance optimization, decarbonization, water efficiency, indoor environmental quality, materials and resources, policies and programs, and sustainability in the built environment.
* Complete LEED, WELL, and Fitwel documentation including plans and calculations.
* Conduct project team meetings and provide written and oral comments and reports to design teams, owners, contractors, and sub-contractors.
* Demonstrate high energy for the business, ability to energize others, and the willingness to take risks and make tough decisions.
* Maintain, develop, source, and cultivate client relationships and manage conflict resolution.
* Lead the development, evaluation, and implementation of energy efficiency and environmentally responsible projects of all types.
* Demonstrate a proactive focus on meeting client and project requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner.
* Quickly execute proposal creation.
* Act as a resource to advise client on available incentives (such as utility incentives) etc. for sustainable initiatives, that can help offset initial capital costs.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited institution
* 5 years' experience in Real Estate Sustainability, Corporate Environmental Management or energy efficiency
* Accreditation as a LEED AP, WELL AP, Fitwel Ambassador, LBC and other related credentials
* Experience with the following: LEED, WELL, Fitwel, GRESB, GRI, CDP, TCFD, SASB, ENERGY STAR
* Knowledge of design, construction, commissioning, MEP and BMS systems in new buildings, retrofits, and construction of tenant spaces
* Working knowledge of USGBC/GBCI/IWBI processes and procedures for LEED and WELL certification
* Working knowledge of global/industry ESG trends and their application in commercial real estate
* Knowledge of Architectural, Landscape, Civil and MEP systems and sustainable strategies
* Highly organized with strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
* Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal clients
* Ability to develop and cultivate business relationships with existing and prospective clients
* Ability to work both in a team and independently
