The Role

As a Technical Illustrator, you will be responsible for creating basic-to-medium complexity technical illustrations, graphics, and other imagery for use in vehicle operator and service manuals. You will develop a feel and style for technical artwork that will be used across all company publications. Your vision for sustainable and luxurious automotive design will be combined with the language of our Technical Writer in order to create a cohesive suite of informative and concise publications.

Responsibilities

* Product illustrations of vehicle components and safety information based on engineering drawings, photographs, and input from various departments and stakeholders.
* Collaborate closely with the Technical Writer to demonstrate concepts and processes via operator-friendly depictions of equipment.
* Develop a cohesive style for all technical illustrations.
* Work with subject matter experts including engineers and technicians to ensure the accuracy of visual aids.
* Establish a library of technical graphics within the company's shared drive.

Requirements

* Bachelor's Degree in illustration or related degree
* 3+ years of illustration experience, preferably in a technical field
* Proficient with common desktop publishing and illustration software including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
* Experience reading engineering drawings, prints, and photographs
* Adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing accordingly
* Self-sufficient and able to complete tasks with minimal oversight
* Go-getter willing to both give and receive constructive feedback in order to improve processes
* Familiarity with electric powertrain technologies and/or automotive industry preferred
* Basic understanding of CATIA preferred
